David A. Kalunian joined the firm established by his father, Arthur Kalunian, in 1975. Practice areas include tax planning and return preparation for individuals and businesses, estate planning and fiduciary return preparation, partnership formation, planning, compliance and return preparation, litigation support, and strategic tax planning. His professional missions are to treat his clients and associates as family and to provide the best services possible.
David was born and raised in Modesto, California. After graduating from Modesto Junior College in 1969, David went south to continue his education at California State University Fullerton. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts in Accounting from Fullerton in 1972. He started his accounting career in 1971 with Mitchum, Jones & Templeton, a Pacific Coast stock brokerage house. He changed jobs in 1972, and went to work for a public accounting firm specializing in the entertainment industry in Century City. In 1974 he was asked to be the tour accountant for George Harrison. The two month tour started in British Columbia, and ended in New York at the Madison Square Garden. David considers his time with the tour as one of the most challenging, yet rewarding highlights of his career.
David is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Stanislaus County Estate Planning Council.
When not at the office you can catch Dave in Newport Beach, Santa Barbara, or Lake Tahoe. He also enjoys exercising, bike riding, and walks with his dog, Windsor.
